You are staying on historic grounds. Before the building became a guest- or godshuis in 1819, Maria van Reigersberch lived here, among others, who married legal scholar Hugo de Groot in the year 1608 in Veere. From 1974, "the Godshuis" housed the secretary's office of the municipality of Veere. Just before the building served as the current B&B, a shipping office was grounded.

According to its rich history, Bed & Brood has been spared. The basement under the stairwell, the beams in the rooms and roof construction reflect the condition of the time. In 2010 Bed & Brood opened its doors in which old-time forms are still clearly visible.
